There are special cosmetics that fights with solar pigmentation. Sunscreen products protect skin from sunburn, leading to hyperpigmentation, but there are cosmetic products that bleach the pigment spots. Sun tan is actually a self-defense of the body. As a reaction against the sun, it produces a pigment called melanin, and it pushes to the surface of the skin to protect from burning deeper layers of living epidermal cells. Sunburn occurs when skin fails to produce enough melanin to protect itself. On the other hand depends on the activity of melanin against UV radiation, hormonal changes, pregnancy, stress, aging processes and inadequate cleaning of the skin, vitamin B12 deficiency, menopause, chemical and laser peel, the genetic predisposition, etc. Pigment spots, unlike freckles have gained a cosmetic defect – in pregnancy, sunburn, chronic internal diseases. In winter, the pigment spots are almost invisible, but in summer, under the influence of the sun, become more intense. They often protrude above the surface of the skin, because their appearance is thicker layer of horn. There are various methods to combat pigmentation solar: chemical peels, crioapplication (treatment with liquid nitrogen), phototherapy, laser procedures, etc., but they are more suitable for colder months of the year. During the summer most effective cosmetic products are bleach. Moreover, during the summer months must use cream with a minimum SPF 15 and avoid the use of creams with retinol, which increases the photosensitivity of the skin.
